With From Now On, composer-keybordist Sally Mosher explores the sonic resources of the modern harpsichord through pieces ranging in mood from gently lyrical to propulsively dramatic.
Trained as a pianist, with experience as performer, newspaper music critic, composer, teacher and concert manager, Mosher turned to the harpsichord because of the exciting improvement in sound which has come about only since the 70's.
'Cellist Xin-Hua Ma joins Mosher on several selections. Since coming to the United States as a founding member of the Shanghai Quartet, Xin-Hua has performed to critical praise as both soloist with orchestra and recitalist throughout the USA, Europe, and Asia. She is the only two-time recipient of the prestigious Hammer-Rostropovich Award. Currently, Ma is resident in Shanghai, China, where she is principal ‘cellist with the Shanghai Symphony and Professor of Violoncello at the Shanghai Conservatory. Ma's recently released CD "Three Wishes for a Rose" was recognized as best violoncello performance in China's 4th annual awards for the best ten CD's of 2008. Ma’s recently released CD Three Wishes for a Rose was recognized as best violoncello performance in the fourth annual awards presented by Chinese City Broadcast Station honoring the best ten CD’s of 2008, China’s most prestigious awards.

Patrick Lindley, after receiving two Masters degrees from the New England Conservatory, was the first harpsichordist to receive the prestigious Beebe Award for study and travel in Europe, where he worked with Nadia Boulanger in Paris and Gustav Leonhardt in Amsterdam. Lindley has performed to critical acclaim throughout Europe and the United States, and is also an accomplished pianist and composer. He has served on the faculties of New England Conservatory, Occidental College, and the California State Universities at Los Angeles and Long Beach, and presently is principal musician for the Dance Department at the University of California Santa Barbara, where he also has been active as composer.

Mosher's aim is to make the harpsichord a vital part of the performance scene in the 21st century, rather than solely a vehicle for historical music. She does play historical music as well, and has recorded a CD William Byrd: Songs, Dances, Battles, Games, as well as a recording from a live concert: English Renaissance Harpsichord Music. In general, Mosher expects her future projects to concentrate on music for the present rather than of the past.
